Get Moving!

Being active means doing at least 30 minutes of physical activity on most, if not all, days of the week.

By finding 30 minutes every day, you can sleep better, feel less stressed, have more energy and enjoy better health.

It is never too late to start. Have a go at walking, swimming, cycling or even join a team sport.

The National Physical Activity Guidelines for Australians set out the minimum levels of physical activity required for good health. The guidelines recommend that you:

  1. Think of movement as an opportunity, not an inconvenience
  2. Be active every day in as many ways as you can
  3. Put together at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity on most, preferably all, days
  4. If you can, also enjoy some regular, vigorous exercise for extra health and fitness

Being physically activity in combination with healthy eating will contribute towards a healthier lifestyle and reduce your risk of type 2 diabetes.
