Caroline Wells - Chief Executive Officer Diabetes Tasmania
Caroline commenced in the role of Chief Executive Officer in September 2005. She has a heath professional background, originally qualifying as a registered nurse in 1986.
Caroline has undertaken many different roles including Quality Manager, Staff Development Co-ordinator and more recently Director of Nursing at Hobart Private Hospital. She has completed her Master of Business Administration and received her Diploma from the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2006. Caroline is also a member of the Registration and Standards Committee of the Nursing Board of Tasmania and a director of the Tasmanian section of the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia. |

Anne Sheehan - President Diabetes Tasmania
Anne has been a Board member since 2005 and has held the position of Treasurer. Following the AGM, Anne was elected President. Anne has been active at the national level of Diabetes Australia, taking on the role of Tasmanian delegate earlier in the year.
Anne is employed by the Department of Health and Human Services in the role of Physical Activity - Policy and Program Officer. She has a Bachelor of Education (PE), Graduate Certificate of Management and a Certificate IV in Life Coaching and is currently enrolled in a Master of Business Administration at the University of Tasmania. Anne also sits on a number of state and national organisations, in varying capacities from Treasurer to Chair, across a diversity of organisations. As a result she brings a wide variety of experience to Diabetes Tasmania. Anne is committed to seeing the organisation further develop and brings much passion to the role of President. |

Andrea Schiwy - Board Member
Andrea has been a Board member since 2004 and brings strong financial management
skills to the organisation.
For the past 22 years Andrea has worked in government regulatory organisations including the Australian Taxation Office, Australian Securities and Investment Commission and State Revenue Office (Department of Treasury and Finance). She is currently a Trustee of the Retirement Benefit Funds Board and a part time tribunal member for the Social Security Appeals Tribunal. Andrea was elected Honorary Treasurer following the AGM. |

John Bates - Board Member
John joined the Board of Diabetes Tasmania in 2006. Now semi retired, John has had extensive experience in the justice system working at the Supreme Court of Tasmania.
He was Associate to the late the Honourable Mr Justice Zeeman and Supervisor of the Probate Registry. He was appointed a Justice of the Peace in September 1999. Prior to his court experience John served in the Defence Forces. John also volunteers at Diabetes Tasmania and is an active board member of the RSPCA. |

Anne Muskett - Board Member
Anne is the Clinical Nurse Manager of the Diabetes Centre at the Royal Hobart Hospital and as such her extensive clinical knowledge is valuable when planning service provision and to assist the organisation in working with other health providers. Anne is also President of Tasmanian Branch of the Australia Diabetes Educator Association.

Katie MacNamara - Board Member
Katie McNamara is a Hobart Pharmacist who has over 10 years experience in primary healthcare. Katie has an MBA through Melbourne Business School and Cornell University in the USA, as a Rupert Murdoch Fellow, and has been recognised for her business achievements as the Telstra Tasmanian Business Woman of the year in 1999 and the Young Australia Career Achiever of the year 2000.
Katie has a long history of community service, through her pharmacy in assisting the Derwent Valley community with health education, but also as a mentor to other young women and as the developer of a youth scholarship, encouraging and helping young people into further education. This was recognised by her being awarded a Centenary medal for her services to Australian Society.
Katie brings to the board experience as a director, having served 6 years as a Trustee of the
Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, as well as on a number of smaller companies, and as a
graduate of the AICD Company Directors’ course. In addition, Katie has had 3 years experience as an associate consultant with one of the world’s top tier Management Consultant Companies, McKinsey & Company, where she has advised many of Australian’s largest companies in the areas of strategy and operations. |
