| Understanding the needs of our members is important and a significant part of our role is to be an advocate for people with diabetes and to take forward issues to appropriate organisations and government departments, facilitating positive change for people with diabetes.
We work closely with our National Office and its advocacy officers actively pursuing areas including the following:
• Lobbying for inclusion of new diabetes management drugs onto the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme;
• Workplace discrimination;
• Access for support and education by people whose first language is other than English.
• Impositions placed on people with diabetes when seeking national standard driver’s licences.
If you have any advocacy issues you feel should be raised, please contact us on 1300 136 588 or email mail@diabetestas.com.au. Remember we are here to help.
